Interior of a large indoor riding arena with soft light

About us

More than riding.

A riding centre is really a collection of small routines: the sound of the yard at seven in the morning, the horse that always leans on the left rein, the rider who finally sits to the trot.

What we stand for

Three things we come back to.

  • BHS Approved Riding School & Livery Yard
  • BHS Where to Train Centre
  • Pony Club Training Centre

Confidence

Progress in riding is rarely dramatic. It's the moment a nervous rider stops gripping and starts breathing.

Connection

A horse reads you before you've picked up the reins. Learning to notice that is half of riding well.

Horsemanship

What happens on the ground — leading, grooming, listening — matters as much as what happens in the school.

Our horses

The ones who do the teaching.

Over thirty horses and ponies, each one schooled and known well enough to be matched to the right rider — the patient schoolmaster who has taught hundreds of first lessons, and the sharper one kept for confident riders.

Thirty-plus horses and ponies

  • Riders are matched to a horse, not to a timetable
  • Ponies for children from age 4
  • Horses suited to experienced riders schooling and jumping

Individual horse profiles and photographs are added by the centre.
