Never ridden, or ridden a handful of times
Beginner Riding
For complete beginners and returning riders. Position, balance and control at walk, then trot when you're ready.

Riding lessons
Whether it's a first lesson on the lead rein or refining a canter transition you've been fighting for months, the starting point is the same: tell us about the rider.
Lesson types
Over thirty schooled horses and ponies, three illuminated all-weather schools, and teaching that starts wherever you are. Every new rider begins with a 30-minute Assessment Lesson.
Never ridden, or ridden a handful of times
For complete beginners and returning riders. Position, balance and control at walk, then trot when you're ready.
Young riders
Ponies, patience and plenty of encouragement. Young riders learn horse care alongside riding itself.
Adults at any stage
Adult-only teaching for anyone starting later or coming back after years away from the saddle.
Riders wanting focused progress
One-to-one attention on exactly what you want to work on — the quickest way to shift a habit.
Riders of a similar stage
Ride with others at a similar level. Sociable, structured and motivating week to week.
Confident, established riders
Flatwork, jumping and schooling for riders with a secure canter who want refinement rather than basics.
Every rider starts here
All new riders at Berkshire Riding Centre begin with a 30-minute Assessment Lesson. This allows the team to understand your experience and place you into the most appropriate future lessons.
On the live website this continues into Berkshire Riding Centre's own online booking system.
What the assessment is for
Suitability for riding is always decided by the Berkshire Riding Centre team.
